Take care of your people so they can take care of business.

As happens in any company you cannot have a group of people without anyone having troubles on a personal level. We have that going on right now. Two of our members have had personal issues. One has problems with an ill family member, and that is carrying into an extra time burden on them to support their loved ones. Another has lost a loved one and is helping his family deal with that loss.

It goes without saying that we will help where we can but sometimes that help consists of just doing the job and carrying on in their absence. It's not that we don't need them... we all just need to recognize that being the family helps people keep it all together during the rough times.  Sometimes you need to step up and cover for someone who needs some extra time, and in doing so you help everyone's situation return to normal as quickly and appropriately as possible.

I am glad that everyone steps up to the plate and says "What can I do to help? Can I take a customer call? Can I do something to help the family? Is there anything they need?" This is what makes PSS a place that you can work and be happy. You know that everyone has your back when the chips are down. May it always be that way and may we as the owners and operators of this company remember that the people are what makes us, not customers, not managers, and not benefits, but people. With that foundation we can and will be a place to be proud of.  If our people trust the company, they're going to represent the company in a trustworthy manner.  That's the kind of culture we want to build around here.
